Description

Explore the Salar de Uyuni on a 2-day excursion. Also, chill out in hot springs and enjoy beautiful highland lagoons along with their exotic Andean fauna
You'll share the tour with other travelers from different parts of the world, turning each stop into an opportunity to exchange stories and create new friendships while crossing truly spectacular natural scenery.

Day 1
The adventure kicks off with a pick-up from your hotel or the Uyuni bus terminal around 10:30 AM. From there, we'll head to the iconic Train Cemetery, an open-air space where old locomotives and rusty wagons rest in the middle of the highlands, creating a setting full of history and unique photographs. Considered one of the largest in the world, this place reflects the region's railway past.
Continuing the tour, we'll enter the vast Uyuni Salt Flat, crossing the so-called salt eyes, small natural formations that spring from the depths of the salt flat, as well as the monument to Dakar, a symbol of the passage of this renowned international competition. The white and infinite environment of the salt flat will be the perfect setting to create amazing visual effects and creative photographs.

We'll also visit Incahuasi Island (Not available during the rainy season: January, February, March). Giant cacti up to 10 m high are found on Incahuasi Island. This island is the largest of the islets located in the center of the Uyuni salt flats. The island has a tourist reception center run by the Llica and Tahua municipal authorities, as the island is located within their territory. This center charges an entrance fee of 30 Bs. (Optional) for visitors to access a well-marked and easily walkable trail that tours the island and lets you enjoy the views over the salt flat, the cobalt blue sky, and the hundreds of cacti.

Late afternoon, we'll head to the areas with water mirrors to watch the sunset, when the sky is reflected on the surface of the salt flat and creates the sensation of walking on clouds. After enjoying this magical moment, we'll head to our hostel to rest.

Day 2
After breakfast, we'll head out around 9:30 a.m. for more exploration. We'll visit the Mining Museum in the community of Pulacayo, where we'll learn about the historical importance of mining in Bolivia. Later, we'll arrive at the community of Tomave to admire its colonial church, an architectural gem surrounded by Andean landscapes.

The tour continues to the hot springs, where you'll have time to relax in natural waters and recharge your batteries. During the journey, you'll often spot typical highland fauna, such as vicuñas, llamas, and sheep, perfect for photos in their natural habitat. Later, we'll explore Laguna Verde, Laguna Orko Kasilla, and the Nuevo Mundo area, before finally entering impressive desert landscapes, where the colors and tranquility of the surroundings will round off this unforgettable experience.
