Description

An unforgettable journey that goes beyond temple sightseeing. Enjoy the scenic view of the countryside, experience a taste of local lunch, and explore the century-old lost temple on your way back.
You will be picked up from the hotel at 7:30 a.m. for a scenic 2-hour drive to Banteay Chhmar Temple, one of Cambodia’s most remote and captivating temples. As you travel to a small village, open rice fields, and local markets, your guide will introduce you to rural life and traditions that shape daily living in this region.

Upon arrival at Banteay Chhmar Temple, you will step into one of the Angkor era’s most impressive yet least visited temples. Built in the late 12th to early 13th century, this massive complex is known as “Narrow Fortress.” The ancient site is filled with atmospheric ruins, intricate carvings, and quiet jungle surroundings, making it feel truly hidden and wonderfully authentic.

After a visit to Banteay Chhmar, stop at a local community for a delicious lunch, as this is the perfect way to relax and reflect on your journey through Cambodia’s most remarkable and lesser-known heritage site.

Before making your way back to Siem Reap, take a short drive to Prasat Mebon, one of Banteay Chhmar’s satellite temples, located to the east. Although smaller in size, this temple offers a different perspective on the architectural style used during the reign of King Jayavarman VII.
