Britannia Mine Museum opens up a little-seen world that fascinates all ages, turning out awe-inspiring sights and memorable family experiences. Explore 10 acres of historic buildings and artifacts, rumble aboard the underground train as it rolls into authentic mining tunnels, and discover BOOM!, a live-action experience in the historic mill.
After entering the site, take a tour with an informative but informal tour guide sharing fun facts about mining, history, and life at Britannia. Learn and engage with interactive exhibits, and push up your sleeves and try out the Gold Panning Pavilion where you can keep what you find.
Delight in BOOM!, the greatest show under the earth. Get an introduction to the story, sights, and sounds behind the architectural marvel with an immersive live-action experience inside Mill 3. The experience involves multiple screens, over thirty speakers, and physical and special effects that bring all the stories of the historic mill rumbling back to life.

• This tour will take place rain or shine
• You will need to climb 48 stairs to the start of the underground tour
• Guests will be separated into groups of 4 to ensure adequate isolation and spacing
All areas that customers touch are frequently cleaned
You must keep social distance while in vehicles
The number of visitors is limited to reduce crowds
You are required to bring and wear a mask
You must show your voucher at the ticket counter before the tour begins. Once you have entered the museum, please walk along the boardwalk until you see a green door. Walk through the green door, then make your way up the stairs to the Train Pavillion where your guide will meet you for the underground portion of the tour.
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 48 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 48 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
