Description

This is one of the most popular hikes in Santiago, it is a perfect combination between a pleasant hike in a green valley and historic site, it takes to the largest baobab tree and an endemic bird.
I will pick you up at your hotel reception or at the port of Praia if you are on a cruise ship, and then we will drive 15 km by car to the beginning of the Ribeira Grande valley in a green and historic valley which is the first settlement in Cape Verde, on the way you will also see the largest baobab tree and an endemic bird called the king fisher bird.

In the middle of the valley we will walk in the shade of some trees such as banana, mango and papaya and coconut trees, there are still some traditional rum distilleries to visit (January to June).

This hike will end in Cidade Velha considered a world heritage site by unesco.
