Embark on a journey through 700 years of history with your NAI-certified interpretive guide on a comfortable tour bus. This tour offers a comprehensive view of the Mesa Verde habitation, showcasing the lives and culture of the Ancestral Puebloan people through various archaeological sites. The tour begins at Far View Terrace, located approximately 30 minutes from the park entrance. From there, a comfortable motor coach will transport you to Chapin Mesa. Along the way, you'll enjoy short hikes to archaeological sites along the Mesa Loop Road. Your guide will provide engaging narratives and insights into the historical significance of each site.
The highlight of the tour is a walk down into Cliff Palace, the most renowned of all the Mesa Verde cliff dwellings. Here, an NPS ranger will lead you through the site, offering a deeper understanding of the Ancestral Puebloan people. National park fee is not included. This will be collected at the entry of Mesa Verde National Park.
Tour Meeting Point, Far View Terrace, is located next to the Far View Lodge - 15 miles inside the park. Guests should allow at least 45 minutes to get from the park entrance to the meeting point. Please arrive 15 minutes before tour departure.
The cliff dwellings are at 7,000 foot (2134 m) elevation. Please consider your physical health as hikes & tours can be strenuous. Not recommended for those with heart or respiratory problems. Children should be accompanied by parents at all times.
Park Rules:
• It is illegal to hike off trail.
• Marijuana is illegal on federal land & national parks.
• Drones are illegal in national parks.
• Archeological resources are fragile and protected. Please do not touch, climb, sit, or lean on ancient walls.
Meet at the Far View Lodge Terrace. Far View Terrace is located next to the Far View Lodge. This is located about 15 miles inside the park.
Due to the switch back roads in the park, guests should allow at least 45 minutes to get from the park entrance to the terrace for the tour.

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
