Description

Kayak in the crystal clear waters of Agia Napa on this guided tour. Explore the rocky coastline, discover sea caves, see the Lover's Bridge natural arch, and visit golden-sand beaches.
The basic kayaking route:
Along Agia Napa Sea Caves (7 km / 4.5 mi) (from Limnara beach going east and back)

If we have time and explorers want to we can also kayak to Cape Greko Sea Caves and back (3.5 / 2 mi).

Limnara beach is the start of the kayaking trip and the basic route goes west until Glyky Nero beach (and then back to Limnara beach).

The coastline is rocky, with many formations, interrupted by two natural sandy beaches (one is too narrow and shallow to go into on a kayak) and one man-made.

The big highlights of the trip are the collection of Sea Caves just east of the beaches of Pantahou and Glyky Nero in Agia Napa. There are more than five sea caves, but most are either very narrow to enter or their height above sea level is limited. Usually we enter two of them. The experience is superb. We enter teh first cave from one entrance and leave from the other. The second cave that we enter has only a single (wider) entrance and the colours there are very beautiful, especially as it has a white sand bottom throughout and light blue water colours.

Lovers' Bridge natural rocky arch is another big highlight of the trip. The arch is quite wide for a few kayaks to go under at the same

It is highly recommended that we also do some snorkeling (if customers like to).

Depending on time availability and customers preferences, we may be able also to do a go and return trip to Cape Greko Sea Caves complex, towards the east. That complex presents a different experience, as it is a cove of sea caves (the Greek Cypriot name is 'Palathkia' or 'Palaces' in English). We would not be able to enter a cave in a kayak, as they are too shallow.

In the last few years the number of Mediterranean monk seals is increasing in Cyprus (there are presently about thirty all around the coastline). If we are very very lucky we may be blessed and spot one.

The kayaking trip ends back at Limnara beach.

It should be noted that at this point, there is capacity for only two kayakers at anyone time (plus the guide). If more that two kayakers book in the group, then we would need to manage the time that each participant will use a kayak.

The time that we spend in the sea depends on the pickup location for the trip. Nicosia is possibly more than an hour away by car while Agia Napa is just a few minutes away. This would naturally mean that we would have under four hours in the sea if customers are picked up from Nicosia, and more than five if they are picked from Agia Napa or Protaras.

If the customers agree, in case of forecasted choppy sea, instead we kayak around East Cape Greko (if the weather is expected to be bad everywhere, we cancel the trip).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please keep in mind that while we do provide things like a dry bag, travellers should be clear that they would probably get wet and they should not bring along things that would be damaged by salt water.
The kayaks are light, only 18 kilograms each and can go relatively fast, depending also on the weight on them. There is some storage place on them. At the same time, people should keep in mind that increasing the weight on the sea kayaking, increases the work they would need to do to move the kayak forward.
If the customers agree, in case of forecasted choppy sea, instead we kayak around East Cape Greko (if the weather is expected to be bad everywhere, we cancel the trip).
A maximum of two travellers kayaking at any time (if there are three or four people in the group, we would need to make arrangements with regards sharing the time on kayaks).
