Description

Embark on this tour to discover the wonders of Ecuador's most visited National Park, home to the imposing Cotopaxi volcano, the second highest active volcano in the world.
Your itinerary
8:00 AM: We'll leave Baños de Agua Santa by private vehicle.
10:00 AM: You'll arrive at the first station, "Control Caspi," located at 3200 meters above sea level (10,498 feet).
10:30 AM: Continue by vehicle to the "Mariscal Sucre" Interpretation Center, located at 3800 meters above sea level (12,467 feet). Visit the center for 30 minutes to learn about the flora, fauna, and history of the Cotopaxi volcano.
11:45 AM: Ride to the parking lot located at 4500 meters above sea level (14,763 feet).
12:00 PM: Start of the hike to the José Rivas Refuge, the only refuge on Cotopaxi, located at 4800 meters above sea level (15,748 feet). The climb takes about 1 hour.
1:00 PM: You'll arrive at the José Rivas Shelter.
1:30 PM: If the weather's good, you can keep walking to the volcano's glaciers.
2:00 PM: Head down from the volcano to the parking lot, which takes about an hour.
3:00 PM: Lunch.
6:00 PM: Arrive in the city of Baños.
