Description
This tour is crafted especially for cruise passengers who want to experience the very best of Tallinn in one day. It provides a complete and unforgettable insight into the region's past and present.
Dear cruise passenger, our carefully designed tour includes visits to three locations that provide a complete and memorable picture of the region's past and present: from the grandeur of royal history at Kadriorg Park to authentic rural traditions at the Viimsi Open-Air Museum and the living history of the medieval Old Town.
You'll begin your exploration of Tallinn with a stroll through the beautifully landscaped park and admire the Kadriorg Palace. Commissioned by Peter the Great for Catherine I, the palace is a masterpiece of Baroque architecture and offers a window into the imperial Russian era
Next, you will head to the Viimsi Open-Air Museum, located on the scenic coastline. Here, you’ll step back in time to experience the authentic daily life of Estonia’s coastal villagers from the 19th and 20th centuries. This stop offers a unique look at traditional farm work, fishing practices, and festive celebrations, all set against the picturesque backdrop of Tallinn Bay.
You will conclude the tour by wandering the cobblestone streets of Tallinn’s UNESCO-listed Old Town. You will visit both the Upper and Lower Towns
In the Lower Town, you will see the Town Hall Square with the medieval Town Hall and one of the oldest operating pharmacies in the world, the Church of St. Nicholas, the medieval city wall, unique merchant houses and more. You will visit the Danish King's Garden, one of the most romantic places in Tallinn, and learn about the origin of the Danish flag.
In the Upper Town, you will admire the Orthodox Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the Lutheran St. Mary's Cathedral. You will see the Estonian Parliament, noblemen residences and enjoy stunning views of the city and port from the observation decks.
At the end of the tour, you'll be taken back to the port. You can also continue exploring the Old Town on your own and return to the port on foot or by taxi. A leisurely walk from Town Hall Square to the port's cruise terminal takes 20–25 minutes.
