Isolated for over a millennia from the rest of the world, the beautiful Omo Valley is home to an exciting mix of many small and distinctive tribal groups.Lifestyles are as varied as the tribes themselves. Lacking any material, culture, or artifacts common to other cultures, these tribes find unique ways in which to express their artistic impulses. Some of these tribes are experts at body painting, using clays and locally available vegetable pigments to trace fantastic patterns on each other's faces, chests, arms, and legs.
In this captivating region, you are privileged to witness age-old customs and rituals, learning of the symbolism that remains an integral part of everyday life. The Omo Valley is absolutely a unique wilderness.
Day 01: Jinka – Market – Turmi meet your guide at Jinka airport up on arrival drive to Turmi on the way visit Key Afer Market. Late afternoon visit Hammer village. The Hamer are a renowned Tribe of Omo Valley, particularly for their Women’s Striking hairstyles, and having the friendliest Tribe in Omo Valley, Ethiopia. The people mainly live in the Hamer Land. It shares borders with Kenya to the south, Chew Bahir to the east, Bena Land in the north, and Omo River to the west. The Bena, Stemaya, Arbore, Karo, Dasenech, Karo, and Gnangatom tribes are neighbors to them. Today there are around 50,000 Hamer people.
Day 02: Excurtion to and Desanche
Morning, drive to Omorate and cross the Omo River by local boat to visit the Dasennech tribe (also known as Galeb tribe). Afterwards, return to Turmi and, if there is Jumping of the Bulls traditional Hamer wedding ceremony,
then you will drive to Jinka for overnight stay .
Day 03: Jinka – Muris + Addis Ababa
Early the morning you will drive to Mago national park to visit Mursi tribe The Mursi tribe live in the lower southern part of Ethiopia in what is currently the Mago National Park, more commonly known as the Omo Valley. The Mursi are best known for two distinct aspects of their culture – huge lip plates worn by the women, and the fierce stick fighting duals between the men after visit drive to Jinka airport and fly back to Addis Abab.
