On this tour you will meet the endless Hamer, Mursi, Kara and Dasanench and Nyangatom, home to the last truly unchanged tribes-people to reach the semi-civilized world. You will have the opportunity to experience the unique customs of the tribes such as donga stick fighting, bull jumping, blood drinking, body decoration, dancing, rituals and ceremonies. Life here is very different from most visitors. And you should be prepared to be shocked by what you will see, remembering that these things can be completely normal in this region. The Omo Valley is inhabited by colourful tribes who practice pastoralism, small-scale livestock rasing and subsistence agriculture..

Day 01: Fly from Addis Ababa to Jinka,
Upon arrival at Jinka airport meet your driver and drive to Turmi. Stop at Key Afar’s weekly market (if on a Thursday) and wander among the various tribes such as the Benna, Karo, Hamer and Ari and more.

Overnight Lodge

Day 02: Omorate

Drive to Excursion to Omorate to visit the Dassanech people, known for their elaborate body painting. Cross the famous Omo River by canoe.

Return to Turmi. visit the Hamer people who are well known for the unique practice of “bull-jumping” which every young man must accomplish prior to marriage. Hamar women wear their hair in thick ringlets covered with mud.

Overnight Lodge

Day 03: Drive from Turmi to Jinka, on this day you will visit the Karo Tribe across the Omo National Park. The Karos are expert body dyers using clay and local vegetable dyes.

Day 04: Jinka

Early morning drive to the Mago National Park to visit the Mursi people. The Mursi women are known for the clay plates they insert into their lower lips. The Lip-Plate Mursi are some of the most remote tribes in Africa.

After explored the Mursi tribe drive ack to Jinka for Lunch, and after lunch transfer to the Jinka airport to catch your flight to return to Addis Ababa.

In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at a traditional Ethiopian restaurant. Transfer to airport for departure
