Description

Discover a foragers paradise on this day trip to a pristine Finnish national park. This excursion is packed with adventure, education, and delicious food!
Embark on this guided mushroom hunting tour from Helsinki that immerses you in the magical world of fungi.
As you traverse the forest floor, adorned with bright oranges, golden yellows, and deep reds, we'll search for Finland's most delicious and prized edible mushrooms - the chanterelle. It's also one of our personal favorites here at Taiga Times.

But, as the name suggests, it's a hunt! We may not always find what we're looking for, and while most mushrooms are harmless, there are also many poisonous ones to be aware of. However, don't worry - your guide will show you which ones are safe to eat and explain the different types of fungi you'll encounter along the way.

Upon arrival at Liesjärvi National Park, our group will embark on a hike through the forest to discover some of our favorite mushroom-picking spots. Once we've gathered enough mushrooms, we'll make our way to the lakeside campfire where your guide will start the fire and prepare a traditional Finnish-style lunch complete with campfire coffee. You'll have ample time to snap photos, mingle with fellow adventurers, and bask in the tranquility of the Taiga forest.

If we're lucky, we may even get to cook and sample the mushrooms we've collected!

After lunch, we'll continue exploring the natural beauty of Liesjärvi before returning to the starting point. You'll leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated from this unforgettable adventure.
