Rovaniemi: Family Fun Day with Huskies and Reindeer

Explore three favourite Lappish activities during a one day tour: husky sleigh ride, reindeer sleigh ride and ice fishing. After a morning of activities and snow fun, enjoy lunch in our wooden cabin!
We welcome you to experience a day of snowy fun with your family, where you get to experience 3 favorite Lappish activities!

This delightful, full-day experience is suitable for families with children of all ages.

You will have the opportunity to experience the wonder of two of Lapland’s most iconic animals – huskies and reindeer.

The thrill-seekers in the family will enjoy the speed of the huskies as they pull you along a scenic forest path — a short but exhilarating ride of approximately 650 meters, lasting several minutes. Feel the frosty winter breeze on your face and watch the huskies do what they love most!

Those pursuing a more relaxed pace will also get to enjoy the feeling of riding on a reindeer sled, gliding slowly through the Artic wilderness. This ride lasts for approximately 10-15 minutes and covers a distance of around 600m. Sit back and relax as these majestic creatures pull you effortlessly through the Arctic forest that they are so accustomed to.

The third activity is a traditional Lappish past time – ice fishing. Ice fishing is considered as one of the ‘Everyman’s Rights’ in Finland, meaning people are free to explore the frozen lakes and try their luck at landing one of the native fish species. The guide will show you how to drill a hole in the ice, then give you instructions on the best techniques to try and hook yourself the catch of the day! Ice fishing will last approximately 30-45 minutes.

In the time between the main activities, you and your family will be free to enjoy some snow fun activities, such as sledding and snowmobiles for kids.

After all the excitement of the day, you will be served a delicious lunch at our beautiful wood cabin restaurant to finish our time together. Warm up, get comfy and enjoy some good food!

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
