Begin your adventure at Rovaniemi Insider’s central office, where you’ll be fitted with high-quality Arctic winter clothing including jackets, pants, boots, and gloves. Once everyone is ready, board a van or bus for the drive to the husky farm.

Enjoy the views of snowy Lapland forests and open landscapes as your guide shares local insights about life in the Arctic and the traditions of husky sledding. Upon arrival, be welcomed by the farm’s owners — experienced mushers who live on-site and have worked with huskies all their lives. Meet the dogs, learn safety rules, and discover how to drive the sled.

To ensure a calm and personal experience, the group is split in half. While the first group begins their 5 km self-drive husky ride, the second group relaxes inside a traditional wooden kota by an open fire, enjoying hot berry juice, coffee, and Finnish biscuits while chatting with the farm owner about husky life and animal care.

After the first ride, the groups switch activities. Everyone gets a turn to drive their own sled through a scenic 5 km trail that winds through snowy forests and over a frozen lake, guided and supervised by professionals. Each sled fits up to two adults and two children, and guests can switch driver positions midway if they wish.

After both groups have completed the ride, spend time with the dogs. Pet the huskies, take photos, and talk with the handlers about each dog’s name, character, and role in the pack. The guides can assist in taking photos with your phone or camera.

When the visit is complete, board the van or bus and enjoy a relaxing drive back to Rovaniemi, arriving with warm hands, big smiles, and unforgettable memories.
