Your route covers the Promenade des Anglais and the surrounding boulevards of Nice's "New Town," the 19th-century expansion that turned a quiet coastal settlement into the winter capital of Europe. Along the way, you'll stop at the Negresco Hotel, whose pink dome and ornate Beaux-Arts facade have anchored the seafront since 1913. You'll cross Place Massena, the city's central square, where Italianate palazzi and the Fountain of the Sun mark the boundary between old and new Nice.
