Description
Explore the wonderful medieval city of Rouen. From the gothic Cathedral to the old jewish neighbourhood, following the path of painters such as Claude Monet or the heroic Joan of Arc.
The tour will start at Saint Maclou’s Church to observe the façade and the « atrium » -Black plague cemetary. We will then, have a look at the former Episcopal palace, and currently Historial Jeanne d’Arc to see the place where she was tried. It will lead us to the Cathedral Notre Dame de Rouen, in order to witness what Claude Monet saw and understand why it is regarded as one of the most interesting cathedrals. After that, we will walk under the arch of the Big Clock and exit the fortified town by the main gates of Rouen. The tour will end at the Old Market square, the old public executions’ place to be immersed in Joan of Arc’s story.
