Duration: 02:00 hours

Description

Walk in the footsteps of the musical greats who lived, studied, and performed in Paris. With your guide you’ll visit sites that were the haunts of Mozart and Stravinsky, and Edith Piaf, Maurice Chevalier, George Gershwin, and Cole Porter as well.
On this 2-hour guided walk you’ll visit Parisian sites linked historically to music, such as the 6th-century Benedictine Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris's oldest church, where troubadours performed during the Middle Ages.

You’ll also see Marie de Medici's Luxembourg Gardens and Palace, home to court music during the Renaissance, and the Carrefour de Buci, a colorful crossroads notorious for its cabarets between WWI and WWII.

Admire the 18th-century picture-perfect Cour du Commerce Saint-André, a charming street arcade that’s home to Paris's oldest café – a meeting point for street musicians during the French Revolution.

Learn about the religious music of the classical period in the huge 17th-century Baroque Saint-Sulpice Church, noted for its 7,000-pipe organ. It is one of only 3, 100-stop organs in the world. The church's most recent appearance was in a supporting role in The Da Vinci Code.

Finish your walking tour in Furstenberg Square, one of the smallest, most romantic squares in Paris, and a favorite of both Edith Piaf and Maurice Chevalier.
