Description

Enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Potsdam with the great palace and park of Sanssouci, the Versailles of Berlin. Discover a great variety of art and architecture in a place that has played an important part in modern history.
Berlin without Potsdam is like Paris without Versailles - leave Berlin without a trip to its royal residence, and you can't say that you've seen it all.

Potsdam's fairy-tale landscapes are inviting and playful, and make any walk a delightful experience.

The palace of Cecilienhof, built in a country house style from 1914 to 1917, is not only memorable for the Potsdam Conference of 1945, where an American president, a Soviet dictator and a British prime minister sealed the fate of Germany and Europe. It is also the last palace built by the Hohenzollern Dynasty.

There you will also see the lakeside Marble Palace with its Greek temple ruins.

Another dreamlike spot is Babelsberg castle with its surrounding park. What are an idyllic Russian village, beautiful towers and churches from the Italian Renaissance and an 18th century Dutch town doing here?

We will give you historic information on how the old city palace was destroyed at the end of the war.

You will cross the bridge where spy swaps took place during the Cold War and see where political opponents of the East German dictatorship were imprisoned.

The tour ends in the beautiful park of Sanssouci, which means literally without worries.
