What to expect on the tour:

• Cologne's Old Town – History & the Cologne vibe
On foot, you'll go from the Römertor, the roots of the Roman city, into the Middle Ages, when Cologne was the largest and richest city in Germany.
Find out why the people of Cologne wanted to build the largest church in the world – and why the cathedral remained unfinished at the time.
At the Heinzelmännchenbrunnen, you will hear why the hardworking helpers left Cologne.
And finally, you will learn why the Köbes in the brewery is the true emperor.
In the narrow, cobbled streets of the Old Town, you will encounter Tünnes and Schäl, discover the Kallendresser, and feel the unique Cologne lifestyle – between the cathedral, the Rhine, and the quaint pub culture.
• Underground Cologne – A Descent into History
Descend into the hidden world beneath the Old Town!
Just a few steps lead to Roman walls, foundations, a medieval well from the time of Charlemagne, and even an archiepiscopal escape route, preserved in the cathedral's underground parking garage.

Subject to availability, you will instead visit the fascinating excavations under Groß Sankt Martin – with unique evidence from Roman and medieval times.
