Duration: 01:30 hours

Description

An old but well-maintained original Venetian gondola... A gondolier trained in Venice... An old Hanseatic city surrounded by water on a meadow river.... Peace and quiet...
Enjoy 5 km of rest and relaxation.

Your gondolier Carlo was trained in Venice, has been allowed to ride a gondola on the Grand Canal there since 2009, and is happy to tell you about gondolas and Venice.

The Venetian's floating Rolls Royce has been sailing on one of the most beautiful routes in Germany since 2012.

There is no fixed route because the weather and traffic situation on the water have to be taken into account. The start and end points are always the same... and in between is a beautiful ride that has already made a big impression on gondoliers from Venice.
We pass under nine bridges made of wood, masonry, concrete, and steel.
With a little luck, we will also see the kingfishers catching fish in the Schwingewiesen.

Highlights

  • The open-air museum on an island of the former fortifications
  • Former bathing establishment on Erleninsel
  • The former brick factory site between Horst and Schwinge
  • Schwarzer Berg, today densely forested and in the 12th century with a fortification
  • Hohenthorsbrücke, where the former main gate of Stade stood until 1881

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Gondola rides are subject to favorable weather conditions. In the event of pouring rain, storms, or lightning, we cannot depart and will try to reschedule the trip on the same day if possible.

After heavy rainfall the day before, the water level is regulated via the lock in the Old Harbor in Stade. This can lead to currents of 7 km/h. Passage through the narrow points of the bridges is then not possible. After about 3 hours, the lock is closed again (if the Elbe is flooded again) and the current quickly reduces.

You will receive a guaranteed full refund if we are unable to depart due to the weather (thunderstorm, storm with a wind force of 7 Bft or higher, very heavy continuous rain, very strong current over 5 m/h) and we are unable to find another date together.
There is a windmill on Museum Island. There is a white wooden bridge 50 meters from the windmill, and right next to it is the floating dock where the gondola moors. You can wait comfortably for the gondola on the bench under the birch trees on the shore.
INCLUDED
  • Life jackets (if requested) free of charge
  • We have umbrellas for you on board in case there is a rain shower.
NOT INCLUDED
