Fukuoka: Ring Forging Workshop with Gemologist Kitakyushu

Join a ring forging workshop in Kitakyushu with a GIA Graduate Gemologist. Choose your material, customize your design, and create a unique piece to take home.
Head to Kitakyushu, a short ride from Fukuoka, and visit DITIQUE, a working bridal atelier where rings are still forged by hand. Meet your host, a GIA Graduate Gemologist and the founder of the atelier, a specialist in traditional forging who makes engagement and wedding rings for clients year-round, including commissions for internationally active professional footballers.

Work at the same bench, with the same tools. One group per day, up to four people, so nothing runs on a schedule but yours. Over five hours, be guided through the whole process, from a bar of raw metal to a finished ring on your finger.

Choose the material — silver for a first attempt, or gold and platinum if you are making something to keep for life — then the width, the shape, the surface finish, and any engraving inside the band. From there, hammer and heat the metal yourself, bend it round, true it up, and check the fit again and again until it sits right.

How much you do with your own hands is up to you: some guests want every step, others prefer to hand the hardest parts over. Either is fine, and the pace adjusts. Photos are taken as you work, so you leave with the ring and a record of making it. Aprons, tools, and non-alcoholic drinks are provided.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
