Experience one of the most beautiful forest cemeteries in Germany and learn on a 2-hour tour how the personalities buried there shaped the history of the "long" 19th century.
Wiesbaden was Germany's "special boomtown" in the 19th century. People came from all over the world to enjoy the amenities of the famous spa town. Many of them, from all walks of bourgeois society, found their final resting place in the Nordfriedhof cemetery, which opened in 1877.
On this tour, you will experience the special forest character of one of Germany's most beautiful cemeteries. From the south entrance, we will walk an approximately 2-kilometer loop and visit the graves of some well-known and lesser-known personalities. Instead of opening a history book, you will hear how these people witnessed and shaped the important events and developments of the "long" 19th century. You will also have the opportunity to look at pictures of the deceased and to hold relevant historical objects in your hands. By remembering these people, we bring them back to life, in a way, and can thus learn from them and from the past.

If you are considering this option, you should:
o arrive at the meeting point ten minutes early so that we have enough time to provide access via QR codes and
o make sure that the cell phone is charged and still has some data volume (approx. 100 MB).
The meeting point is the bus stop directly to the left of the south/main entrance to the North Cemetery.
If you want to come by bus, take line 3 or 6. If you come by car, you will find parking spaces on Hellkundweg to the right of the south entrance (forest path) or at the west entrance (approx. 400 m/7 minutes' walk to the meeting point).

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
