Description

A combined guided tour focused on enjoyment, taking place in and beneath the Old Town. On this tour, you will learn even more about the beer and hops trade, beer merchants, master brewers, and more.
On this combined tour, you'll literally get to the heart of Nuremberg's brewing tradition. This longer tour, which is as exciting as it is enjoyable, combines our red beer tour in the rock tunnels with a thematically related walking tour of the Old Town. On this tour, you will learn even more about the beer and hops trade, beer merchants, master brewers, and more.

Our “700 Years of Nuremberg Red Beer Brewing Tradition” tour begins at the Altstadthof house brewery. At this historic site, the original Nuremberg red beer was and is (once again) being brewed. After a brief introduction to the history of the beer, the tour continues with a walk through the Old Town via Weißgerbergasse, Kettensteg, Fleischbrücke, and Hauptmarkt.

Finally, the statue of Albrecht Dürer himself leads us into the extensive labyrinth of cellars known as the Historic Rock Corridors. There, our entertaining history lesson continues before we return to our traditional red ale brewery. At the end of our “700 Years of Nuremberg Red Beer Brewing Tradition” combined tour, you will also have the opportunity to sample the legendary specialty beer during a short beer tasting session.

For additional tastings, our ProBier Boutique is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
