Our adventure begins at Casa Mandarina, located at 2da Calle Poniente 2, Antigua. We'll then journey to the San Vicente Pacaya Visitor Center, a scenic drive that takes approximately 1.5 hours by car. The hiking trail begins at around 1,900 meters above sea level (6,300 feet), and while the ascent may be a bit steep, there are multiple resting points along the way. Our pace will be relaxed, allowing you to savor the journey, with the ascent duration varying between 1.5-2.5 hours. Remember, it's not a race; you can take your time and enjoy the experience.

Once we reach the top, you'll be treated to a mesmerizing view of the active volcano. The Pacaya Volcano will remind you of the vitality of Mother Nature and its majestic presence. We'll spend approximately one hour at the summit, where you can absorb the incredible energy of the volcano and enjoy a delightful picnic.

The picnic includes Mayan hot chocolate or traditional cusha, tortillas, cheese, and various accompaniments such as chicken or pork slices, seasonal fruits, tomato sauce, avocado, beans, green onions, and lime. It's a feast fit for a "Chapín," the local term for a Guatemalan. Vegan options are also available for those with dietary preferences.
