Hverfjall Volcano Sunrise hike, Enjoy a guided morning hike to the edge of the crater Hverfjall. Experience at panoramic View over all of Lake Mývatn Nature reserve.
This is a morning experience, tailored for those staying in the Mývatn Nature reserve. Enjoy a guided walk to explore this incredible crater in the morning light. The hike can both be short or long, just depending on you, Some simply enjoy a walk up the front face of the crater that is 100m altitude incline at 15-25° path, 10min for some 35min for other. Others like to walk the entire circle of the crater, 150m incline and 2.5km walk. Hverfjall Crater is very unique, standing in the centre of Mývatn Nature reserve, every part of the volcano you will experience incredible views. From Hverfjall you will be able to have a view over all of Mývatn main sights: Dimmuborgir, Lúdentarborgir, Mývatn, Grjótagjá, Hverir, Krafla & More.
At the start of the hike you will be provided Ice-Spikes/crampons for added grip in the winter conditions, We also have hiking poles for those who need. Once at the crater rim, the guides will explain the view and take time for storytelling. You might decide to simply rest, enjoy the morning light and incredible views, or you could continue the Hike to around the crater that is just up to you :). One of the best thing about this tour is that even though you have more tours booked on the day, you will be back before 10:30, before your next tour starts.
Please note that this tour will be flexible due to weather. Often we move the tour 1 day back or forth if weather is bad therefore it is good to book this tour in the middle of your stay by Mývatn.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
