Description

See the highlights of Iceland’s south coast on an exciting tour from Reykjavik. Visit the glacier lagoon Jökulsárlón and see Europe’s largest glacier, as well as Seljalandsfoss waterfall.
Discover the southern coast of Iceland. See massive glaciers and stop for refreshments in charming villages along the way. Visit black sand beaches and learn about the history of the region from your guide.
Get picked up from Reykjavik, and be whisked away down the picturesque south coast. Pass gorgeous meadows, rugged coastlines, and traditional farmsteads on the way.
Begin with a visit to the 60-meter-high Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, considered a staple stop for sightseeing trips down the coast. You will then make a refreshment stop at the southernmost village of Iceland, VikiMyrdal.

Continuing along the south towards the east, you’ll be amazed as the scenery transforms from rich farmlands and dramatic mountains to darkened outwash plains, black deserts and staggering areas of natural elevation.
If the conditions allow, you can also pay a visit to the stunning river canyon of Fjadrargljufur.
Finally, the highlight of the day, Jokulsarlon, where you will be immediately taken within its ethereal ambiance, glittering icebergs, incredible panoramic views, and lively wildlife. If you're lucky, you will also be able to witness the curious seals and dive-bombing Arctic Skuas.

Walk between the icebergs on the so-called “Diamond” or “Crystal” Beach. This is a black sand beach at the coastline near the glacier lagoon, and very often, there are many icebergs washed up onto the beach which makes for a spectacular view.
On the way back you will stop to look at an old turf church, which coincidentally resemble "hobbit holes", which you will discover more about on your tour.
