Meet in central Reykjavik and travel south to the Reykjanes Peninsula. Arrive at the start of the hiking route and follow your guide towards the volcano in Geldingadalur. The hike will take approximately 1.5-2 hours each way and the trail is conveniently marked.
Gaze in awe at the raw power of mother nature as you see lava spewing from the volcano. Be amazed by glowing rivers of molten rock which will cool and harden to create entirely new landscapes.

The hike will take approximately 1.5-2 hours each way
The tour will be canceled if the Civil Protection Service announces that conditions at the eruption site are unsafe
There is a risk of rockfall. Beware of steep slopes
The telephone connection in the area is poor
Eruption sites can change, and new eruption cracks may open at short notice
Please note that the volcano is ever-changing and is sometimes dormant.
Sightings of spouting lava are rare and cannot be guaranteed.
You must keep social distance while in vehicles
All areas that customers touch are frequently cleaned
You are required to bring and wear a mask

When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 48 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 48 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
