Please Note : The Taj Mahal can be viewed by moonlight for five nights each month – the full moon night, two nights before, and two nights after.
Tickets are limited to 400 visitors per night, divided into eight groups of 50 people each.
Each group is allowed to stay in the Taj Mahal complex for 30 minutes.
Tickets are booked online seven days in advance at the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) office, 22, Mall Road, Agra.
Valid identification (passport or government ID) is required when purchasing tickets and entering.
Visitors must arrive at the Shilpgram parking (East Gate) 30 minutes before their scheduled time for security checks.
Only small handbags and cameras are permitted – no tripods, video cameras, or large bags.
Night viewing is closed on Fridays and during the month of Ramadan.
Morning – Start of Sightseeing
07:00 AM – Pickup from your hotel in Agra
Your driver and local guide will meet you at your hotel. Begin the day’s exploration.
07:30 AM – Visit the Taj Mahal (Sunrise optional or morning view)
Start your day with a stunning view of the Taj Mahal in daylight. Spend time exploring the history, architecture, and gardens.
(You can skip this if you prefer only to see the Taj Mahal at night.)
09:30 AM – Breakfast at a local restaurant / hotel
Midday – Forts and Heritage
10:30 AM – Visit Agra Fort (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
Explore the grand Mughal fort complex — palaces, courtyards, and the marble balcony where Shah Jahan once viewed the Taj Mahal.
12:30 PM – Lunch at a local restaurant
Try Mughlai cuisine at a recommended spot such as Pinch of Spice or Joney’s Place.
02:00 PM – Visit Itmad-ud-Daulah’s Tomb (Baby Taj)
A beautiful marble tomb across the Yamuna River — often called the prototype for the Taj Mahal.
03:30 PM – Visit Mehtab Bagh (Moonlight Garden)
Positioned directly opposite the Taj Mahal across the river — great for photography and sunset views.
Evening – Relax and Prepare for Night Visit
05:30 PM – Return to hotel / free time / early dinner
You’ll need to be at the entry point for the moonlight visit later, so rest and have an early dinner.
Night – Taj Mahal Moonlight Viewing
07:30 PM – Report at Shilpgram Parking (Eastern Gate)
All visitors must assemble 30 minutes before their allotted time slot.
Carry your passport and night viewing ticket.
Only small items and cameras are allowed (no big bags, tripods, or video cameras).
08:30 PM – Taj Mahal Moonlight Visit
Enjoy the breathtaking view of the Taj Mahal bathed in moonlight.
Each batch gets about 30 minutes inside the complex for photography and viewing.
09:30 PM – Return to hotel
After your moonlight viewing, your driver drops you back at your accommodation in Agra.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
