Historically working-class and somewhat forgotten, Ortica has undergone a radical transformation over the last decade — from industrial fringe to the first open-air museum district of Milan.

At the heart of this transformation is the Or.Me. Project (Ortica Memoria), a monumental urban art initiative by the local artist collective Orticanoodles. Through over 20 large-scale murals, the project tells the collective memory of Milan — its heroes, workers, musicians, activists, and forgotten figures — in vibrant color and powerful imagery.

Each mural is not just a painting, but part of a larger community storytelling project, created with the involvement of local residents. The result is a living museum of murals that speak to history, identity, and hope.
