Embark on a journey from Tokyo to two of Japan’s most historically rich and culturally significant destinations: Hiroshima and Miyajima. Travel in comfort aboard the high-speed Shinkansen, gliding effortlessly through Japan’s scenic countryside before reaching Hiroshima, where a knowledgeable guide will welcome you for an immersive exploration.

Begin at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, a poignant site dedicated to remembrance and global harmony. Stroll through this powerful location, pausing at key landmarks such as the Atomic Bomb Dome, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that stands as a symbol of resilience, and the Children’s Peace Monument, commemorating the young lives lost. Delve deeper into the city’s history at the Peace Memorial Museum, which offers a compelling perspective on Hiroshima’s past and its enduring message of hope.

Next, head toward the coastline for a picturesque ferry ride across the Seto Inland Sea to the breathtaking island of Miyajima. As you approach, take in the awe-inspiring sight of the iconic floating torii gate, one of Japan’s most famous and revered landmarks.

Upon setting foot on Miyajima, visit the esteemed Itsukushima Shrine, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, celebrated for its exquisite architecture and unique waterfront location. Wander through the island’s charming streets, where traditional shops and eateries invite you to savor local delicacies like fresh Miyajima oysters and momiji manju, a delightful maple leaf-shaped confection. Immerse yourself in the island’s serene natural beauty, and encounter the friendly deer that roam freely, adding to Miyajima’s enchanting atmosphere.

As the day draws to a close, take the ferry back to the mainland and return to Hiroshima Station. Your guide will ensure a seamless transition as you board the Shinkansen bound for Tokyo, where you can unwind and reflect on the remarkable experiences of the day. Arriving at Shinagawa Station, your journey concludes, leaving you with lasting memories of Hiroshima’s profound history and Miyajima’s captivating charm.
