Your experience begins with a short introduction to kakejiku (Japanese hanging scrolls) and Japanese calligraphy. Your instructor will guide you through the basics of holding the brush and using ink in a simple, beginner-friendly way.

First, you will practice basic brush strokes and the Japanese characters you would like to write. Once you feel comfortable, you will write your final calligraphy on a traditional hanging scroll to create your own unique artwork.

No previous calligraphy experience is required. The workshop is suitable for both adults and children.

The workshop takes place in a calm and relaxing studio in central Hiroshima, making it a perfect cultural activity during your trip.

At the end of the experience, you can take your finished hanging scroll home as a special souvenir from Japan.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
