Meet your guide at Hiroshima Station and take the JR train and ferry to the sacred island of Miyajima. See the Great Torii Gate which built on the sea, and walk through the Itsukushima Shrine to Omotesando Street. Enjoy an hour of free time to taste Miyajima's delicious local foods, such as maple cakes (A little hidden bonus: Japanese tea served with freshly baked, still-warm maple cakes), grilled oysters, soft drinks etc.
Optional activity during free time: Experience a hands-on Miyajima workshop and craft your own traditional wooden shamoji, a unique Miyajima souvenir! Guided by local artisans, sand and decorate your rice paddle while discovering the fascinating history behind this symbol of good luck. Take home your unique creation as a memorable souvenir!
In the afternoon, ride a historic tram that has been operating for over 100 years back to Hiroshima City and visit the Peace Memorial Park. See the Atomic Bomb Dome, the only building near the hypocenter preserved in its original condition, and explore the museum to learn more about the atomic bomb and its impact.
This 6‑hour tour (9:00–15:00) is led by an informative guide who can speak English, Chinese(Mandarin), Cantonese and Japanese, will share the history of Miyajima and the atomic bomb, along with personal recommendations about Hiroshima.
