Description
Learn the art of Ikebana in a traditional tea room in Kanazawa. Be guided by a Sogetsu School Grade 1 Master, and use custom Kutani-ware vases and official Sogetsu tools for your arrangement.
Immerse yourself in one of Japan's most refined traditional arts in the heart of Kanazawa, a city celebrated for its living cultural heritage. Step into a beautifully preserved tea room for an intimate, mindful Ikebana (flower arranging) session guided by a Sogetsu School Grade 1 Master with over 20 years of experience.
Learn the Sogetsu School's unique compositional principles, including the relationship between floral materials and the vase opening, in a clear, logical way accessible to all skill levels. The Sogetsu philosophy of "anytime, anywhere, for anyone" means this is a practice you can carry home.
Every detail is considered, from custom Kutani-ware vases to official Sogetsu scissors and kenzan, and a tranquil traditional garden. Tools are available to purchase so your Ikebana journey continues beyond Kanazawa.
For full cultural immersion, add a kimono dressing session (Option B) and arrive dressed in Japan's iconic garment before stepping into the tea room.
【About This Venue ( - Location B)】
This session takes place in a historic tea room with a fascinating story. The building was originally part of the birthplace of Jokichi Takamine — the scientist world-famous for discovering Taka-Diastase and isolating adrenaline. Relocated twice over the decades, it now sits near its original site in Kanazawa, connected to a former official residence.
