Description

Ise Jingu is the highest-ranked shrine in Japan. In ancient times, vistors purify themself at Futami Okitama Shrine before visiting Ise Jingu. The tour follows this custom and visits two shrines.
Visit both the Outer Shrine and the Futami Okitama Shrine and receive a souvenir of Akafuku Rice Cakes!

Since ancient times, it has been a tradition to purify oneself at Futami Urashima before visiting the Ise Grand Shrine.
The two rocks, bound tightly with a large sacred rope (male rock and female rock), are called the "husband and wife rocks." The husband and wife rocks are considered symbols of love and matchmaking for couples and are famous as such.

Enjoy the refreshing atmosphere of the Outer Shrine (Toyoukedaijingu) with dappled sunlight filtering through the trees.
The Outer Shrine enshrines Toyuke-no-Ookami (the deity of food, clothing, and shelter) who serves the sun goddess Amaterasu-Omikami, and is revered as the guardian deity of daily life, industry, and more. The gravel-covered approach is known for its abundant sunshine and clear air, making it a place where the spirit is cleansed simply by walking.

Visit the Inner Shrine (Koutaijingu) with a history dating back approximately 2,000 years.
The Koutaijingu, located along the banks of the Isuzu River, has been enshrined since the reign of Emperor Suinin, a distant ancestor of the imperial family. The deity enshrined here is none other than Amaterasu-Omikami, one of the three kami who played a vital role in the founding of Japan. Once you cross Ujibashi Bridge at the entrance to the approach, you enter the sacred precincts, where the air becomes crisp. The long approach paved with gravel is also beloved as a glimpse of ancient Japan's original landscape.
