Day 1: Osaka or Nagoya to Katsuura

Option A: Departure from Osaka

Start your journey with a pickup from your hotel or Airbnb within the Osaka Loop Line, or meet at Nipponbashi Station Exit 2. Head to Toretore Market, one of Western Japan’s largest seafood markets. Enjoy fresh fish from across Japan and shop for local souvenirs.

Next, visit Sandanbeki Cave, a natural sea cave once used by the "Kumano Navy" pirates. Take an elevator 36 meters down to feel the power of the Pacific waves. Continue to Senjojiki, meaning "a thousand tatami mats," to see the tiered rock formations and stunning ocean views.

Relax at Shirarahama Beach, a sister beach to Waikiki in Hawaii, famous for its 620 meters of silky white sand and turquoise waters. End the day at Engetsu-to Island, the iconic "Full Moon Island" with a natural sea-eroded hole in the center.

Option B: Departure from Nagoya

Meet at the Taiko-dori Side Exit at JR Nagoya Station and head to Ise Jingu Grand Shrine, Japan's most sacred Shinto shrine. Experience the serene atmosphere and ancient cypress architecture.

Next, visit Onigajo, a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring dramatic rock formations and caves carved by volcanic activity and sea erosion. Continue to Jofuku (Xu Fu) Park, a peaceful park dedicated to Xu Fu, who traveled from China to Japan 2,000 years ago.

Day 2: Nachi & Kumano

Walk the ancient stone path of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route, lined with 1,000-year-old cedar trees. Dress in traditional noble attire from the Heian period for a unique photo opportunity in the forest.

Next, visit Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine, one of the three grand shrines of Kumano. The brilliant vermilion buildings set against the mountain forest offer a spiritual and historic experience.

End your tour at Nachi Falls, one of Japan's tallest and most beautiful waterfalls. It is worshipped as a deity at Hiro-jinja Shrine.
