Description
Immerse yourself in Japanese culture with a dance and kimono experience in Kushiro. Learn from a master, enjoy stunning views, and take home skills you can use long after the workshop ends.
Begin your experience by meeting your instructor, a distinguished master of the Hanayagi-ryu school, one of Japan’s five major classical dance lineages. With a career spanning four decades, she brings the prestige of a professional educator to this intimate setting. Whether you are a total beginner or a culture enthusiast, you will receive personalized guidance rooted in authentic tradition.
The workshop takes place at the "Kushiro Fisherman’s Wharf MOO," the city’s central hub for tourism. Located within walking distance of major hotels and the station, it is the perfect activity to fit into your day. The studio boasts a breathtaking view of the Nusamai Bridge, the symbol of Kushiro. As you practice your movements, the serene Kushiro River flows just outside the window, creating a tranquil and photogenic atmosphere.
Begin your session with a hands-on Kimono lesson. Learn the art of wearing this iconic garment, feeling your posture naturally straighten as the sash is tied. Once dressed, step onto the floor to learn Nihon Buyo (Classical Dance). Master the "Suri-ashi" (sliding step) and the delicate use of a folding fan to express emotions and nature.
Don't forget your camera; the combination of traditional attire and the panoramic view of the bridge (and possibly the legendary sunset) provides a world-class photo opportunity.
