Description

Explore and get to know the traditional Kawagoe neighborhood wearing an authentic traditional kimono.
On this tour of Kawagoe, known as "KOEDO" or "little Edo", we will explore its rich history and traditional architecture, wearing a traditional kimono.

We will start at 9:30 am at Hon Kawagoe Station. From there, we will head to the kimono store to choose your outfit, change and fix your hairstyle.

Then, we will start the tour by visiting Renkeiji Temple, and walk up the historic Kurazukuri Street. We will see the Toki-no-Kane bell tower, walk along the Kashiya Yokocho candy street and stroll along the charming Taisho Roman Yume-dori street. We will also enjoy a relaxing foot massage on the way to Kumano Shrine.

During the tour, there will be a 30-minute lunch break, or if you prefer, you can sample the delicious products from the food stalls along the way.

The tour will end at the kimono store at 16:00, although participants can change at any time during the tour.

There are extra cost options such as;
- 1 hour photo session with kimono
- 30 minutes ride in a traditional Jinrikisha cart (maximum 2 persons)

The cost of kimono rental, accessories and hairstyle are included in the tour price.

In case kimonos are not available for rental, we will reimburse ¥6000 to each person.

There is a possibility to rent kimonos of higher quality and/or print by paying the difference at the time in cash.

When should I book?

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.


Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
