In a renovated Kyoto townhouse, you’ll learn about a tea ceremony performance, then you’ll whisk your own matcha.
Kimono & Matcha Experience in Kyoto
Start at MK Kimono Rental Mimosa, only 1 minute from Kyoto Station.
Everything you need is included: kimono (or yukata in summer), obi belt, socks, shoes, bag, and innerwear. Men also receive a haori jacket in winter. Free luggage storage is available.
After getting dressed, take a private taxi to Ichinenzaka 362 Café, near Kodaiji Temple. In a traditional tatami room, you’ll watch a short tea ceremony, then whisk frothy matcha yourself and enjoy your own bowl of tea.
English-speaking staff will guide you throughout, so even first-time visitors can relax and enjoy.

• Kimono Rental: 9:00 am – 6:00 pm (last check-in 3:00 pm, return by 5:30 pm)
• Matcha Café: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm (last order 5:30 pm)
Late Return Fees (Kimono):
• 9:00 am – 10:00 am: +1,100 yen
• 10:00 am – 6:00 pm: +2,200 yen

When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
