About Tsavo West National Park
Tsavo West is not flat savannah – it’s dramatic:Chyulu Hills & Lava Fields: The recent Shetani Lava Flow – a vast black lava field from an eruption 200 years ago, with caves and volcanic cones.
Mzima Springs: The highlight! Crystal-clear springs where 50 million gallons of water gush daily from underground Chyulu Hills lava rock. You watch hippos and crocodiles from an underwater glass hide.
Hills, Rivers & Forests: Ngulia Hills, acacia woodlands, and the Tsavo River – much greener and more rugged than Tsavo East.
