Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli
Depart for Amboseli National Park via the Nairobi - Mombasa road at 7 AM. The morning drive is via typical African savanna country dotted with local homesteads and colorful Masai herdsmen grazing their cattle. Arrive at Amboseli National Park in time for lunch. Take a midday rest and later venture into the park for the scheduled afternoon game viewing drive.
Be on the lookout for elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, cheetahs, warthogs, ostriches, and more. The snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro dominates the skyline and surrounding countryside. Marvel at the wildlife and scenery. Enjoy dinner and accommodation at AA Lodge or similar.
Day 2: Amboseli to Nairobi
Wake up early in the morning to see Mount Kilimanjaro, and take an early morning game drive. Marvel at Mount Kilimanjaro as it's illuminated by the early morning light, revealing dark hues of purple, and turning its snow an ethereal pink.
Enjoy an iconic African sight: herds of African elephants crossing the Amboseli plains with Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. Animals are most active in the morning, so you'll be able to see the wildlife hunt and play in the early morning light. After the game drive, head back to camp for breakfast and then return to Nairobi.
