Description

Explore Hell’s Gate National Park by e-bike or quad bike on a guided tour from Nairobi. Enjoy a boat ride on Lake Naivasha and a walking safari on Crescent Island.
Begin with an early morning pickup from your Nairobi hotel or residence. After a brief introduction from your driver-guide, depart for Naivasha along the Nairobi–Naivasha highway. Make an optional stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for panoramic views of the escarpment and valley below. Take photographs and learn about the geological forces that shaped this remarkable landscape.

Arrive at Hell’s Gate National Park and meet your local Maasai guide for a guided 3-hour exploration. Choose between an electric bike or a quad bike. Ride through the park using a pedal-assisted e-bike, making it easier to cover longer distances and gentle slopes. The quiet ride allows for wildlife viewing, photography, and a more relaxed cycling experience. Alternatively, explore designated park routes on a guided quad bike. After a safety briefing and riding instructions, travel through open grasslands, rocky terrain, volcanic formations, and dramatic cliff-lined scenery.

Along the route, look out for zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, elands, gazelles, warthogs, baboons, and a variety of bird species. Your Maasai guide will explain the park’s wildlife, volcanic landscape, geothermal features, and natural formations. You will also learn about Maasai traditions, pastoral life, livestock keeping, community values, and the close relationship between the Maasai people and the environment.

Continue to the Ol Njorowa Gorge, where narrow pathways pass between towering rock walls shaped by erosion and volcanic activity. Explore the accessible sections while learning about the gorge’s formation and natural features. Access may vary depending on weather conditions and park safety regulations.

Stop at a selected restaurant in Naivasha for lunch before continuing to Lake Naivasha. Board a boat for a scenic ride across Lake Naivasha toward Crescent Island. Observe hippos from a safe distance and look out for African fish eagles, pelicans, herons, kingfishers, cormorants, and other water birds. Your boat guide will provide information about the lake’s ecosystem and wildlife along the shoreline.

Arrive at Crescent Island for a guided walking safari through its open grasslands. Walk among freely roaming giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, impalas, waterbucks, gazelles, and other plains animals. Under the guidance of your local expert, you may approach some animals from a close but safe distance. The experience offers excellent photography opportunities and a rare chance to observe wildlife at ground level without a safari vehicle.

Take the boat back to the mainland, meet your driver-guide, and return to Nairobi for evening drop-off at your hotel or residence.
