Embark on a guided day trip from Nairobi to Mount Longonot. Hike the Four Craters trail, reach the peak, and complete the crater rim circuit for panoramic views of the Great Rift Valley.
Begin your day with a 6:00 a.m. pickup from your preferred location in Nairobi. Your driver-guide will give a brief introduction and overview of the day before beginning the scenic drive toward Mount Longonot National Park.

Along the way, enjoy an optional stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for photos and breathtaking views of the escarpment. Your guide will share a short explanation of the Rift Valley, a major geological feature formed through the gradual movement of tectonic plates. This region is also known for its volcanic landscapes, with Mount Longonot standing as one of the most striking volcanic formations in the area.

Upon arrival at Mount Longonot National Park, meet your hiking guide and begin the adventure. Instead of following only the traditional route, this experience takes you through the more adventurous Four Craters trail, where you will enjoy views of smaller volcanic features, rugged landscapes, and the surrounding Rift Valley.

Continue your ascent toward the crater rim and reach Mount Longonot’s highest point, commonly known as Kilele Ngamia. After taking in the panoramic views from the peak, continue along the scenic crater rim circuit before descending back to the park gate. The hike takes approximately 5 hours, depending on the group’s pace, fitness level, and weather conditions.

At the end of the hike, meet your driver-guide at the starting point and proceed for an optional lunch stop. You may also choose to add an optional boat ride on Lake Naivasha, where you can enjoy views of the lake, birdlife, and possible sightings of hippos from a safe distance.

After the day’s activities, begin the return journey to Nairobi, with drop-off at the same location as pickup.
