Description

A day trip to Hell's Gate National Park, the Olkaria Geothermal Spa, and Lake Naivasha is a popular adventure from Nairobi that combines active exploration, relaxation, and wildlife viewing.
Begin with 7am pickup in Nairobi, then travel to Lake Naivasha and Hell’s Gate National Park, with a break to get views of the Great Rift Valley from a scenic overlook along the way. Upon arriving in the park at roughly 9am, begin a 2-hour, guided bike/walking tour: watch for beautiful rock formations, herds of Thompson’s gazelle, eland, zebra, giraffes, warthogs and hartebeest as you ride. Keep an eye on the sky throughout the tour, as Hell’s Gate National Park is home to more than 100 species of birds, including Verreaux’s eagles, augur buzzards, vulture, and swifts. Continue on foot into the park’s distinctive gorges

Located in the heart of Hell’s Gate National Park, the KenGen Olkaria Geothermal Spa is Africa’s first and largest natural geothermal health spa. It offers a unique wellness experience by utilizing mineral-rich "brine"—naturally heated water from underground reservoirs—bypassed from KenGen's geothermal power plants. The facility features three cascading lagoons, with the largest maintained at a therapeutic 30°C to 40°C, known to improve skin health, ease joint pain, and promote relaxation due to its high sulfur and silica content. Surrounded by volcanic hills and roaming wildlife, the spa serves as both a tranquil retreat and an educational center for sustainable energy
