Set in the serene suburb of Nairobi, the Karen Blixen Museum not only provides the most comprehensive insight into the person of Karen Blixen, but also offers a fantastic space for personal reflection
Enjoy a pick up by our friendly driver/guide at 9:00 am from your hotel and leave for Giraffe centre arriving at around 10:00am. Learn about the giraffes from one of the uguides. Get to know the different species and be able to feed them and even kiss them.
You will be driven to Karen Blixen museum at 12.00 noon where you will learn about the life of the talented author and farmer through, photographs, paintings and displays of furniture and a Library of books. There is a unique collection of agricultural tools, ploughs, wagons, coffee driers and first generation tractors that provide an insight into early twentieth century agriculture, technologies and transportation of goods. Three hundred bags of coffee were hauled by oxen from Karen Blixen’s farm to the Nairobi railway station from where they went to Mombasa for shipping.
