Your experience begins with pickup from your hotel in Luang Prabang. Travel by tuk-tuk to the Mekong River, where you’ll enjoy a scenic local ferry crossing to Chom Phet District. From the river, continue into the peaceful countryside on a fun tractor-wagon ride, passing through rice fields, traditional villages, and beautiful rural landscapes.

Upon arrival, meet your friendly local Khmu guide and enjoy a refreshing welcome drink. Learn a few simple Khmu greetings and discover the important role that food, farming, and rice play in Lao traditions, celebrations, and everyday life.

Step away from the busy streets of Luang Prabang and immerse yourself in the authentic flavors and traditions of rural Laos through a hands-on cooking experience.

Begin with a relaxing walk through the local garden and farm. Discover the fresh herbs, vegetables, and other ingredients used in traditional Lao cuisine, then pick seasonal ingredients yourself. Next, join your cooking instructor for a hands-on Lao cooking lesson.
