Start your trip from Phonsavan and visit the Plain of Jars, a land of mystery with giant stone jars. The site features over 2,000 large stone jars, some reaching up to 3 meters in height and weighing several tons. Their purpose remains a mystery, although theories suggest they were used for funerary practices or possibly as storage containers.
Next, visit Ban Naphia, a well-known spoon-making village from scrap metal. Each day, the village produces 1,000 spoons, which are traded at the Phonsavan market.
Continue to Long Cheng, which was once a major military base during the Vietnam War. It's a fascinating place to visit and learn about this period of history. There are a number of abandoned buildings and structures to explore. Spend the night at Long Cheng Guesthouse.
