Enjoy the wonders of the north of Mauritius on a private tour. The Northern part of Mauritius is a delight as you will enjoy all the lovely attractions to the maximum. It is buzzing with life and a real gem aligning historical sites and modern facilities.

Start with a visit to the Notre Dame Auxiliatrice Church, also known as the "red roof church", at Cap Malheureux, in the north of Mauritius. It is one of the oldest churches that has witnessed one of the most written and spoken wars between the French and the British over the control of the island. Enjoy the exotic calm turquoise water and let this place nurture your soul.

Head to the Botanical Garden located in the district of Pamplemousses and discover incredible variety of tropical and indigenous plants. Populated with more than 650 varieties of plants such as the famous Baobabs, the ineluctable Giant Water Lilies, medicinal plants, a large spice garden and many more.

Proceed to the Aventure du sucre, a tropical domain which hosts the impressive sugar factory, transformed into a museum, which has become one of the most extraordinary sites on the island over the years. Discover the history of the country intimately linked to sugar cane, the secrets of the manufacture of cane sugar and the famous by-products of cane (rum, electricity, natural fertilizers, etc.). If you are an experimentalist, we are sure that you will enjoy the local rum made out of sugar cane.

Head to Port-Louis, the capital city of Mauritius and learn about the country's financial and political centre. Visit and discover the Port-Louis Caudan Waterfront, a unique shopping, leisure and work hub, on the water’s edge. Enjoy the exciting shopping venues, especially at the Craft Market, a hive of activity with wonderful ambiance where you are sure to find lots of souvenirs for your family. Visit the Port Louis central market, a fun and ideal place to find many locally made products, textiles, Mauritian spices, fruits and many souvenirs for very cheap prices. Stroll the city streets and see several sightseeing attractions such as: The Anglican and Catholic cathedrals, the main city Mosque, Chinatown, the Supreme Court house, the 18th century Barracks and the Natural History Museum.

At the end, visit the Fort Adelaide (also known as La Citadelle), built in a very strategic location on higher lands of Port Louis at 240 feet above sea level. Testimony of the first decades of British guardianship in Mauritius, Fort Adélaïde attracts many glimpses with its imposing silhouette and its black stone walls. The Fort Adelaide offers a vast panoramic view of Port-Louis and its harbour. The British built this fortress in fear of a civil war from the remaining local and French settlers on the island and also for the purpose of guarding the harbor against enemy attacks. A ride to Fort Adelaide, guarantees breath-taking views of Port Louis and of the mountain range surrounding Port Louis.

From here, drive back to your hotel at around 17hr00.
