Start this experience with pickup from your hotel or from a meeting point in downtown Oaxaca de Juárez. Travel through the beautiful scenery of the Central Valleys as you discover the region's Zapotec traditions, cuisine, and culture.
Your first stop will be at a traditional bakery in Tlacolula de Matamoros, where you will learn about the process of making artisanal bread and enjoy a tasting of freshly baked bread accompanied by a glass of traditional Oaxacan hot chocolate, a much-loved tradition in Oaxaca's markets and towns.
We will then continue on to Hierve el Agua, one of the most breathtaking natural landscapes in the state. Explore the famous petrified waterfalls, hike the trails, and enjoy stunning panoramic views of the mountains.
Next stop will be the ancient Zapotec city of Mitla Archaeological Site, known for its impressive geometric stone mosaics and its historical significance within Zapotec culture.
Later, we will visit a traditional mezcal distillery, where you will learn about the artisanal production process and enjoy a tasting of this iconic Oaxacan spirit.
We will continue on to Teotitlán del Valle to learn about the traditional process of making wool rugs with natural dyes and also discover how artisanal Oaxacan chocolate is prepared.
Before heading back, we will visit the famous El Tule Tree, known as one of the trees with the widest trunk in the world.
Finally, we will return to Oaxaca after a day filled with culture, nature, and traditional flavors.
