Experience the largest lake in the Balkan Peninsula, Skadar Lake, on a day trip from Tivat. Get to know the world-wide famous National park and discover its unique fauna, culture and historical legacy. Located between Albania and Montenegro, Lake Skadar is an important historical and natural monument for Montenegrins that has been a National Park since 1983 and is a part of the World's List of Wetlands of International Importance by the Ramsar Convention. Hop in a boat for a 3-hour ride across the lake. Take a swimming break, admire the architecture (Grmuzur fortress, Saint Nicola Monastery, Kom Monastery and Lesendro fortress) or try to spot the 270 different kinds of birds residing in the park. Following, you'll have lunch at a local restaurant where you can choose between a fish or meat menu. Then, visit the small fishing settlement of Virpazar with no more than 337 inhabitants. There, you will enter the Visitor Center Vranjina to learn about the areas culture, with a gallery, reliefs of all national parks of Montenegro and ethnic room.
