Description
Spend the day exploring two of Maputo's top destinations! Enjoy a 3-hour safari through Maputo National Park before heading to the beautiful Ponta do Ouro Beach to relax, swim, and enjoy.
The day starts early with a pickup in Maputo City at around 06:30 and begin our journey to Maputo National Park, about an hour away. As we leave the city, we pass by the Maputo–Katembe Suspension Bridge, the longest suspension bridge in Africa, stretching about 3 km across the bay and finished in 2018 a really impressive landmark as we head out of town and into the adventure. Along the way, we’ll have snacks and bottled water on board for everyone.
Once we arrive at the park, we switch to an open safari vehicle and begin our first game drive. For approximately 2.5 hours, we explore the park’s bush, lakes and open plains, looking out for wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, warthogs and many other species roaming freely in their natural habitat. Binoculars are also provided to help with spotting wildlife from a distance.
After the morning safari, we continue towards Ponta Milibangalala, where we’ll have a 1.5-hour lunch and beach stop at the resort. Guests can explore the area, enjoy a walk along the beach or take a swim while waiting for lunch. Lunch is optional and is at the guests’ own expense.
After our beach stop, we begin the journey back towards the park entrance, enjoying another approximately 2-hour safari drive along the way. This gives us another opportunity to spot wildlife and experience a different part of the park before making our way back to Maputo City.
At around 15:30, we’ll start our journey back to Maputo and arrive at approximately 17:00, wrapping up a full day of wildlife, beach and ocean views, great food, sand on feet and a great day of adventure!

Just a friendly heads-up that this is a wild safari experience inside a natural national park. The animals are not in enclosures, so every day is different. Sometimes you might see a lot of wildlife, and other times fewer, it really depends on nature and animal movement on the day. That’s what makes it special! We always say it like this: we don’t choose the wildlife, the wildlife chooses us. That unpredictability is what makes each safari so exciting and unique!

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
