Description

Exclusive sightseeing tour of The Hague and Delft in the footsteps of Vermeer, with a visit to the Mauritshuis and the main historical sites.
Johannes Vermeer is another of the great painters bequeathed to us by art history. Known as the painter of light, despite his great fame, only about thirty of his paintings have survived. The artist behind the famous Girl with a Pearl Earring and The Milkmaid was born and lived in the city of Delft. Did you know about this hidden gem of the country? On this sightseeing tour, we'll visit two major cities in the South Holland region: The Hague and Delft. Together, we'll stroll through the streets of the seat of the Dutch government, learn about the fascinating aspects of the city's inhabitants, and take the opportunity to visit the Mauritshuis, one of the most important museums in the world. It's here where we can discover together the secrets of Girl with a Pearl Earring or The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp, among others. After this visit to The Hague, we'll head to the city of Delft. Once of great commercial importance, it was here that the blue and white ceramics, so loved by many, began to be made. During our stroll through Delft, we'll see the highlights of the city where Vermeer shone, visit two churches that had a major influence on art, and see examples of Delftware.
